Lake District Winter Workshop
Join photographer Simon Baxter (LPOTY Commended 2016, Outdoor Photography Magazine’s choice winner 2016, shortlisted LPOTY 2017) and myself for a week of landscape photography indulgence in one of the best and most iconic locations in the UK; The Lake District National Park. We will hike the fells, explore the woodland, venture in to deep caves and quarries and amble around the shores of some of the most spectacular lakes in the UK as we strive to capture the beauty of the Lake District in it’s glistening winter coat.
What to Expect
We want to make the whole experience simple and relaxed so that all you have to do is enjoy yourself, eat well and capture beautiful images. Therefore, we’ve created a generous package that includes everything apart from drinks. Simply make your own way to the hotel and we’ll take care of everything from there.
- 6 nights accommodation starting from Saturday 3rd February 2018
- Breakfast, packed lunch and 3 course evening meal (excludes Steaks and Chateaubriand)
- Transportation to all photography locations during the workshop
- Tuition & guidance from myself and Thomas
- Image critique on location
- Lightroom image editing sessions
Excludes: Insurance and travel to the hotel accommodation.
We will base ourselves in a modern country house hotel in Grasmere. Your home from home in the English Lake District with a dramatic backdrop of fells and beautiful lake vistas. Ideally located between Grasmere Lake and Grasmere village, it offers cosy rooms, a welcoming bar and lively restaurant. The perfect respite after a day exploring the lakes.
Fitness and Experience
Having a reasonable level of fitness will be an advantage on this workshop. We will be taking on some hikes, uphill, of up to 2 hours. We will be walking off the path on awkward and uneven terrain and because of the time of year the surface we are walking on could be wet, icy or covered in deep snow. This is very much an outdoor workshop in an unforgiving environment, if you are of ill health or suffer any physical ailments, it is advised that you do not attend this workshop.
