Photographing the Mont Blanc Massif from the Aiguille du Midi, I was feeling light headed. At almost 4000 metres the smallest of tasks becomes a challenge. At this point I was focusing very much on the grand vista, it’s difficult not to be seduced by the pure scale and grandeur of the mountains. In the far distance I could see what looked like 3 ants slowly descending the impossible looking face of the mountain. On closer inspection I could see this was 3 climbers coming down the mountain. I noticed the tracks in the snow and immediately saw a composition unfolding in front of me. If they could just maintain that perfect distance between each other, we’re on!
